How Might Legalization of Cannabis affect Home Buyers?
The Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) has come out with a 5 point plan addressing concerns about how growing cannabis in homes may affect home buyers as the legalization date approaches. Under the new law, individuals will be allowed to grow up to 4 plants in their homes.
According to OREA, growing these plants brings with it, potential health risks related to mold and fungus. Real estate agents and even home inspectors have not been trained to identify these potential impacts and that is giving rise to concerns.
Under OREA’s 5 point plan, they are recommending that no more than one plant be allowed to grown in a house of 1,000 sq ft or less. They also are addressing illegal grow-ops and training of home inspectors.
It’s yet another thing for home buyers to consider in their search and it will be interesting to see how this issue unrolls in the years ahead.
I may need your help. I tried many ways but couldn’t solve it, but after reading your article, I think you have a way to help me. I’m looking forward for your reply. Thanks.
