The Shipyards in Collingwood Development Is Underway Again
After sitting idle for the last 4 years, it is exciting to see development at The Shipyards in Collingwood underway again. This award winning project started sales back in 2010 but stalled in 2012 due to the need for financial restructuring. By that time, all of the product had been sold but demand continued to grow. After all, who wouldn’t want to live by the water in the heart of the downtown core?
I’ve written many posts about this project in the past and have always been a big fan or the location and the vision of the developers. There is no doubt in my mind that the time has come for this project to blossom and move full-speed toward completion.
The re-start begins with 16 condominium townhome units being built on a stretch of road that runs between Maple at Pine Streets. A pre-release was done for existing home owners and 9 are already sold with just 7 interior units remaining. All available units are Huron models which range in price from $569,900 for a 1650 sq ft, 2 bedroom unit to $669,900 for a unit with a loft and finished basement offering 2750 sq ft of finished space. All units include a double car garage and parking for 4 vehicles.
Occupancies are expected in the summer of 2017 and currently, a complimentary, 1 year social membership to Osler Brook Golf and Country Club is being included. Condo fees are expected to run $350-$540 a month.
If you are interested in learning more about the project, it would be my pleasure to give you a tour of the site and to attend the sales office with you.
