Oh no, I’ve been meme’d

I knew it would happen some day but here it is now thanks to Matthew Collinge in Vancouver  Actually, it’s kind of flattering Matthew so thanks and I hope I don’t bore you too much.

A meme is like a blog chain letter first started by Mary McKnight at RSS pieces  (which is a pretty outstanding site REALTORS should have a look at.) The idea behind it is to share a little more personal info about yourself than you might normally reveal on your blog.  This is done by answering 8 questions (I gather 8 is Mary’s fav number among other things) and then, passing the questions on to the next 8 people.  So here goes.

Who Is Your Favourite Musical Artist?
Damn.  I’m stuck already.  I get goose bumps from Il Divo and I swoon with John Mayer.  I could listen to Eric Clapton and Joss Stone all day but in the end, it’d have to be Alicia Keyes.

Who Is Your Favourite Artist?
Stuck again! I’m afraid I’m not evolved enough to be able to answer this.  I love art but rarely note the artist unless it happens to be someone I know.  I will say though that I once saw a “picture” made out of an off-white paper cast that was a three dimensional image of an old medicine woman.  It was well beyond my budget so I passed which to this day I regret.  It haunts me. I can’t even find a picture of it.  I want it.  Can anyone tell me where I could find it?

Who Is Your Favourite Blogger?
Easy.  Greg Swann at Bloodhound Blog.  And who doesn’t adore St. Paul’s Teresa Boardman?

If you could meet anyone (alive or dead), who would it be and what is the most interesting thing about them?
This is way harder than I thought.  Like Matthew, Richard Branson would be high on my list as are Nelson Mandela and Maya Angelou.  But if it’s just one, it has to Fidel Castro.  Dead or Alive.

What Did You Want To Be When You Grew Up?
An international human rights lawyer.  And thin.  I’m neither.

What Is The Most Interesting Piece of Trivia You Know?
That astronauts wear diapers for lift-off.  I would too.  Holy crap.

If you could live in any point in history what would it be and why?
The Victorian area.  I’m drawn to Victorian architecture and, men in starched shirts make me swoon.  What gal wouldn’t want a carriage ride and a parasol?

What Is The Most Interesting Job You Have Ever Held?
I developed and directed a community program for youth that was designed to break the inter-generational dependency that many families had on using the welfare system.  I fell in love with a whole lotta kids who are grown up today.  The program worked and is still running more than 20 years later.  It’s called TRACKS.

The 8 people I hereby meme (which according to Mary, means they are required by meme law to answer and ask 8 other people to answers these same questions on their blogs!):

Montreal real estate agent, Deyanira Bautista
Fellow Collingwood Realtor, Rick Crouch
Oakville’s own Hilary Shantz
Kathy Clulow from Uxbridge
Sylvie Conde from Toronto
Dane Caldwell Decorator and Home Stager in Downtown Toronto
Larry Estabrooks from Moncton, NB
Mike Montague in Barrie, Ontario
