A New Way for Landlord to Collect Rents

There’s an interesting new service for landlords and tenants that offers an online payment platform for monthly rent payments. This may be of particular interest to the many landlords in our Collingwood and Blue Mountain region; especially if they live outside of the area.

Get Digs™ is a part of RBC Ventures, a subsidiary of RBC and is designed to improve the way renters and landlords can pay and receive rent payments. Renters can pay their rent by the method of their choosing: credit card, VISA Debit, Debit Mastercard, Interac e-Transfer, or cheque. They can also set up alerts to make sure they never make a late payment. The service also guarantees payment to the landlord on the rent payment due date, even if the tenant is late in paying.

A quick look around the website suggests other features are in the works such as online viewing appointments, digital applications, and lease signing capabilities. For the many landlords who live outside of the area where their properties are located, this may well be worth the annual $129 fee to landlords to ease in the collection of rents.
